how to remove data from slicer

How do i remove data from a slicer when the value isnt even in the underlying dataset?

As Background, I had a value called "unknown" in my data set originally but i removed it and refreshed the data model. However the "Unknown" value still appears in slicers now, even though its not in the underlying data. How do i make the model forget that value existed?

davedal If you've removed "unknown" from data source and then refreshed then you shouldn't be getting that even in the slicer. Are you absolutely sure it is removed completely. Maybe you've removed it from the column that is not used for the slicer. Check on the field that you've used slicer for and make sure it is removed from that field.

On other note slicer doesn't remember any values it's merely allowing you to slice and dice based on the values from the field you've choosen.

    Hi davedal,

I am not able to reproduce your issue. Please create a simple table visual and drag the changed column into it and check if the “unknown” value is definitely removed. Also remove the slicer and recreate it.

In addition, if the issue still persists, please help to post sample data of your scenario.

    Thanks,
