how to get Powerbi Service API access

I am trying to build a dashboard based on PowerBI service data. Trying to extract the below informations

Example

  • Who has access to that particular workspace and their level of access
  • Number of Dashboards
  • Number of Reports
  • Dataset Last Refresh time
  • Usage tracking based on user level

Thanks for your detailed email. Followed the same process but still Couldnot access the APIs from PowerBI Desktop. Please find the error msg below.

Hi @revathi_p4 ,

 

With Power BI REST APIs you can do the following:

  • Manage Power BI content

  • Perform admin operations

  • Embed Power BI Content

To use the Power BI REST APIs, you need to register an Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) application in Azure. And you can reference the following document.

Get started with Power BI Embedded - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

 

After you register an Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) application, you can follow these steps to add permissions to your Azure AD app.

1, Open your App in Azure.

2, From the left, under Manage, select API permissions.

3, Select Add a permission.

4, In the Request API permissions window, select Power BI Service.

5, Select Delegated permissions. A list of APIs is displayed.

6, Expand the API you want to add permissions to, and select the permissions you want to add to it.

7, Select Add permissions.
