I am gettingthe following message "Microsoft SQL: Cannot open server "uhhospitals.org" requested by the login. The login failed.".
How do I find the place to edit the login information?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @BeaBF , you can edit the credentials by going to file ---> Options and Settings---> select the correct database and click on edit permission ---> click edit as shown in the below image :
If this happens in Power BI Service:
Go to Workspace
Open Semantic model (Dataset) → Settings
Under Data source credentials, click Edit credentials
Re-enter the correct:
Authentication method (SQL / Windows / Azure AD)
Username & password
If applicable, verify the Gateway mapping is correct
If this happens in Power BI Desktop:
Go to File → Options and settings → Data source settings
Select the SQL source → Edit Permissions
Update or clear credentials and reconnect
Refresh the model

@lavblack Hi! In Power BI Desktop, SQL login credentials are not edited inside the model. They’re stored as data source permissions. You can find them here:
Then click on "Data source settings". Select your connection and then "edit".
