how to easily update modified dataset definitions in case the dataset is large and evolving?

Hi,

I have a datamart which loaded into the PBIX file about 0.5Gb. The data model (kimball) needs to be modified over time as the requirements evolve. I have setup a gateway to automatically refresh the dataset in the cloud.

Now my question is as follows: when i want to update the data model in the cloud, do i need to fully load my DM again in a PBIX file (or open the uploaded one, and press refresh), and then upload the whole data set manually? is it instead possible to just upload the dataset definition (and let the gateway take care of the date actuality)? if so how?

Currently, it's not supported to update the dataset definition only on Power BI Service. You can only refresh the dataset, it will update both metadata and raw data.
