If you have a column which similar with below one, you can create a measure to get the number of items which contain "Direct Mail" or "Mail".

Measure =
CALCULATE (
    COUNTROWS ( 'table' ),
    SEARCH ( "Direct Mail", 'table'[Response Channel],, 0 ) > 0
        || SEARCH ( "Mail", 'table'[Response Channel],, 0 ) > 0
)
