Hi,
I am reaching out to seek assistance regarding an issue I am facing while attempting to connect Power BI to Azure DevOps for the Analytical Pane.
Despite following the recommended steps and configurations, I am encountering difficulties in establishing a successful connection between Power BI and Azure DevOps. Specifically, I am unable to access the Analytical Pane within Power BI after attempting to establish this connection.
I have thoroughly reviewed the documentation and troubleshooting resources available, but have been unable to resolve the issue independently. As such, I am reaching out to the community for guidance and assistance in troubleshooting this matter.
If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has expertise in connecting Power BI to Azure DevOps for the Analytical Pane, I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice you can provide. Additionally, if there are any specific configurations or steps that I may have overlooked, please do not hesitate to point them out.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. I look forward to any insights or suggestions that can help resolve this issue and enable me to successfully connect Power BI to Azure DevOps for the Analytical Pane.
Please note that We have also tried connecting to OData but missing the required fields.
Can you tell me if your problem is solved? If yes, please accept it as solution.
Regards,
Nono Chen
Thank you
From your message, I understand that you have followed the recommended steps and configurations, but you are still unable to access the Analysis pane in Power BI. Please try the following methods to resolve the issue:
Azure DevOps Analytics Service: Ensure that the Analytics service is enabled in your Azure DevOps organization. This is a prerequisite for accessing Azure DevOps data through Power BI.
Permissions and prerequisites to access Analytics - Azure DevOps | Microsoft Learn
Power BI Desktop version: Verify that you have the Power BI Desktop October 2018 Update or newer version installed as this is required for the Azure DevOps Power BI data connector.
OData Connection: When connecting to OData, ensure that you're using the correct OData endpoint provided by Azure DevOps Analytics.
OData Analytics query guidelines - Azure DevOps | Microsoft Learn
Required fields: If required fields are missing when connecting to OData, double-check the query to make sure all required fields are included. Additionally, verify that the user account used to connect to Azure DevOps has the appropriate permissions to access the required data.
Connection type: Determine whether you use DirectQuery or Import mode in Power BI, as not all data sources support both connection types. Your selections may affect the availability of certain fields and the performance of your reports.
Firewall and network: Check for any firewall or network restrictions that might prevent Power BI from accessing Azure DevOps Analytics.
If you have checked all the above and the issue persists, it would be helpful to have more specific details about the exact error messages or behavior you're seeing when trying to access the Analytical Pane. This information could provide further clues for troubleshooting.
