how to check overlapping records based on multiple columns

Hi, 

I have a sick leave table like below. I want to check if an employee has submitted any sick leave request that overlap with another request. E.g.,, in the table below, employee id 25, submitted one sick leave request starting from 2018-01-15 to 2018-02-15, then another request starting from 2018-02-11 to 2018-07-24. clearly the 2nd request partially overlaps witht the first request. How to create a DAX column to check these overlapping cases?

I have tried if() + earlier() function, it looks earlier() only works with filter functions.
