how avoid import from ssas tabular ?

Hello,

 

is it possible to prevent users, who have access to the tabular cube in read mode, import mode with power bi ?

 

what is the impact on our cube if several users import all the data and refresh every 1 hour ?

    Hi Cobra77 

    There is no option to prevent users importing data from SSAS into Power BI on Power BI side.

    If users import all data into Power BI and refresh 1 hour,

    than performance for power bi report and refresh progress is very slow since data is huge.

    For better performance, you could suggest users to connect live to ssas with Power BI.

      it's better to use live connection and limit access to users by adding Roles in Cube.

    Cobra77 ,

     

    It's better to use Live Connection with SSAS and you can restrict the users using Role Level Security (RLS) feature.

      Of course, we always use live connection with SSAS, and security is managed at SSAS level.
       
      But we notice that some users are redoing their own and importing the data ,
      we would like to prevent that.
