help switch to 24 hours format in Gantt chart by MAQ Software

Dear Power Bi community,

I use Gantt chart by MAQ Software visual to create Gantt chart to illustrate the sequence and duration of loading of railway wagons. The source file for this chart ir simple excel file containing two columns with the date and time of railway wagon start and end of loading. The date/time in excel is Custom type  yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm

Later in Power query, the format is set Date/Time, say

However when I fill the MAQ Software visual "Start" "End" positions the time line on the chart itself is presented in this format

In chart

In tooltips

The question: how can I choose 24 hours (not AM, PM…) date and time format here in Power BI instead of this AM PM format ?

I ques such simple option as change of date/time format to 24 hours format does not require any writing of complicated measures, formulas and etc and should exist somewhere in labyrinths of Power BI, Power query menu, but I cant find one.

I would be very gratefull to you for help, hints, thoughts on this issue.

Thank you in advance !

HI @Robert_715,

You can try to set the custom field format string to confirm if it works on your chart.

Use custom format strings in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

If these settings also not affect the current content, it means the formats has been defined in visual itself and you can’t custom with it.

For this scenario, I'd like to suggest you contact to the visual author to get further support.

Good morning,

thank you for your advice and link for setting the custom field format string. It partially worked ! By saying "partially" I mean interesting reaction of the visual to the changes in formats: I.e. I set the format in a Modelling chapter as it was advised  like this

Robert_715_0-1668145823899.png

(by the way, shouldn't it be "hh:mm" instead of "hh:nn" ? since minutes are always "m", but not "n")

The chart/visual reacted in an interesting way:

Time format for the dates that were figuring as an information in Tooltips changed to 24 hours format, but dates figuring in the heading/axis of the visual - remained the same with AM PM.

However, even this partial solution made the chart much more user friendly, so I mark the question as Solved. Thank you!
