filter just one table by login

Hi Everyone! 

 

I'm creating a dashboard that allows students to see their classmates and I need that they only see the classes where they belong. 

I have one table with the information of the students and one table for the classes, the tables are related by one ID.

I'm using the 'Manage roles' option and using this DAX to filter by login in the classes table: 

[LOGIN] = SUBSTITUTE(userprincipalname(),"@eafit.edu.co","")

The filter shows the student's classes but doesn't show their classmates

 

What can I do?

From you description I think you need a separate security table: Two columns Login and Class which is related to your Class table based on class.

 

Apply the RLS to this security table which will then filter the class table to just show the correct classes but will leave you able to see the other students in the class. You might have to play a little with filter direction between existing class and existing student tables. If you can build a demo pbix file I can help futher.
