filter complete datamodel

Hello,

I have a data model with a fact table (Accounting rules) and dimensions tables (Debtors, Articles, Installations etc).

This dataset contains all the data of the company.

Now i want to filter this complete dataset for one particular debtor.

When i make a filter in 'edit query's' on the Debtor tables, users of the report can also see the data of other Debtors in the Installations, Accounting rules etc.

When i make a filter in the options for the visuals or report they can change / delete this.

How can i filter a complete dataset so users see only this data?

With kind regards, Norbertus

    Hi Norbertus,

I hope you want to achieve this in Power BI Service. With Power BI Service, we can use RLS (Row-Level Security) to restrict access for given user. We can create roles in Power BI Desktop and then publish to Service. Finally, we can assign a role to people to control the access. Please reference powerbi-desktop-rls and powerbi-admin-rls for more details.

I am afraid this is hard for Power BI Desktop. Because people who get the file will have the full control of it. Even we apply some restrictions, they can be deleted.

    Best Regards!
