export to pdf

Exported a report to pdf and found two issues.  1.  the pdf is not in the same format as the desktop report, which is a table.  Random gridlines appearing, font is bold in places.  2.  I don't seem to have any control over the size of the pdf - I need to have it in letter 11 x 8.5" format.  Unless I'm not doing something with settings somewhere on my computer this is a real disappointment.  Hopefully I've just overlooked something!
