drill through from SSAS cube

I understand from Microsoft documentation that Actions are not supported when using Power BI to connect to an MSAS cube. Is there a workaround to provide this functionality, or am I left with the option of needing to expose granular level information in the MSAS cube to use as Attributes ?

Hi bjarvis100 ,

"I understand from Microsoft documentation that Actions are not supported when using Power BI to connect to an MSAS cube. Is there a workaround to provide this functionality, or am I left with the option of needing to expose granular level information in the MSAS cube to use as Attributes ?"

<--- Which kind of action do you want to implement? What does "granular level information" mean? Could you share some details about your requirement?

Hi, thanks for your reply.  Re-reading the question, I can see I have not worded the question well, sorry !!

We use Actions in SSAS to provide drillthrough functionality.  As Actions (as I understand it) are not accessible by PowerBI attached to an SSAS cube, I wondered if there was any workaround available to provide drillthrough functionality when using PowerBI against an SSAS cube.

My only alternative (as I see at the moment) is to include Order and OrderLineNum into the SSAS cube as attributes which will increase the size of the cube dramatically (with potential performance implications).

So the question is, how to enable drillthrough in PowerBI report when connecting to an SSAS cube.
