directquery query to external datasource has exceeded
Hi,
i m using On-Premises Power BI Solution and its license. when using direct query getting following error,
when search find Power BI cloud has option to increate capacity, pls guide how can i increasae capacity On-premises implementation.
pls advise.
thx
Hi Anonymous ,
A premium capacity can only affect the supported storage size of capacity ,but as for 100m rows,it is a limitation for direct query, there's no way to enlarge the limitation of direct query. But you can use aggregation or other queries to reduce the lines you need to load to your model.
Here is the reference.

Direct query limit rows not more than 1 Million on a visual
Refer : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-use-directquery
"This situation can occur with a simple chart that includes a very high cardinality column, with the aggregation option set to Don’t Summarize. The visual needs to only have columns with a cardinality below 1 million, or it must apply the appropriate filters."
Try to reduce query
