direct path to the excel file or get data through SharePoint?

Hello All,
I have a question acording Access from Excel on SharePoint ti Power BI?
what is the best approuch, through the direct path to the excel file or through SharePoint?

 

honestly I cannot see any difference but I'm still not sure which approuch is the most correct one.

Any help will be appreciated .

      Thanks for your responce, but what is intresting for me is the difference between the 2 ways. Right now I get access from SharePoint but I want to know if getting access from Direct path is any better.

        Hi Poma,

        In fact, connect to the 'onedrive business' file link is similar to directly get data from a file. It can be point the data connector to access the root file path. If you use a web connector link to the URL, you can find power bi data connect will return the binary of the file.
