differents layouts in table relationship model

there is the possibility to create different layouts where you can create relationships between tables. How to use different layouts? What influence do they have on the charts? Is there an example...

see the image I've uploaded in the post. I don't understand how to manage differents layouts or pages with relationships in the tables.
