different row colors depending on a specific column value

Yes, you don't need to have a column of condition on your visual.

1. You can create a measure for the desired legend :
circles are from here :
https://getemoji.com/assets/#objects
(just choose these you need and copy and paste them into the measure)
2. Add "I" or another button to your table:
3. Add a tooltip to the button with your legend measure
result :
You can group this "button" with the table
The demo file is also updated.

Fantastic, many thanks indeed.
Do you know if there's a way to add some text inside the table box in order 2 explain what each color means?
In that example would be something like
"red = 1"
"blue = 2"
Ideally showing a little box with the color.
