Hi PrudenceTlou - sometimes, clearing the local cache resolved the problem for me. you can also check the below steps:
1.Close Power BI Desktop completely.
2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to:
C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\ or Use command prompt ctrl +R Paste the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\3. Delete the following folders/files:
AnalysisServicesWorkspaces
CEF
User.zip
4. Restart Power BI Desktop and try signing in again.
These folders store cached authentication and session data , you can delete it and restart the application again.
FYI : Power BI Desktop does not work with personal Microsoft accounts, i hope it is not the case for your desktop.
