@Anonymous Why don't use the time intelligence feature of powerbi which you can easily enabled from the Option and Settings menu like below. This feature will automatically create date hieracrchy for you. You may need to restart your PowerBi file once to have it enabled.

I aggree with negi007 you may try time intelligence feature he has replied.
