data recognition on a xls file

Hi   I have some data I'm trying to import through the power Bi Desktop, but for some reason as a .xls file the query editor is not recognising the text  in column E so I can't filter by the col...

Hi kevjay74,

 

What version of PBI are you using?

 

I made the testing using PBIx64 December version and saved a file on xls format from office 21016, it work correctly.

Hi MFelix,

 

I'm using 2.53.4954.481 64-bit (December 2017) version. Which I think is latest version. 

 

I enclose a link to the file I'm trying to view in the query window. For me, Column E or Column 5 in power query is not appearing.

    Hi was wondering if anyone had any idea on this?. It seems strange that it's just the .xls format. I thought Power BI looked at the first 200 rows to define a data type, so strange that it's appering as a number. Anyway, any assistance on this would be much appreciated.
