customize color in waterfall chart

Hi,

I am working on the below dataset to show it on the waterfall chart:

MonthParametersValue
Jan-20Production90
Jan-20loss15
Jan-20loss24
Jan-20loss31
Feb-20Production94.20
Feb-20loss13.60
Feb-20loss21.20
Feb-20loss31
Mar-20Production84.6
Mar-20loss15.4
Mar-20loss23.7
Mar-20loss36.3
Apr-20Production92.50
Apr-20loss11.10
Apr-20loss22.30
Apr-20loss33.10

I need to customize the colours of loss1, loss2 and loss3 instead of green and also how to show losses downwards instead of upwards:

Please suggest how to achieve this.

Thanks

Hi, @jitpbi

If you want to customize bar color, you can try Simple Waterfall. You need set ‘Format using Sentiments’ to off, and then customize bar color.

Just found a quick workaround for this visual. If you're looking to only have one consistent color across all dimensions in the waterfall chart, you can use a calculated measure with a hex value:

  1. Create Measure for this hex value, such as: WATERFALL_BAR_COLOR = "#5A9DB4"
  2. Change Data Type of this measure to Text
  3. Under the Bar Color menu for this visual, hit the fx formula button and apply WATERFALL_BAR_COLOR to one bar

This will affect all of the dimensions and allows you to change all colors of the chart in one place, janky though this solution may be.
