created by column showing as 'list'

Hi. I am new to power Bi and wanted to created a dashboard from data on a sharepoint list that is recorded by a canvas powerapp. I have managed to extract the data from the SP site into Power Bi and all columns show data bar 1. This column is the 'created by' column, which is the default column created by the powerapp. The record in the column just shows as 'list' rather than the enduser who created the record from the powerapp.

How do I go about getting the user to shown as it should in this column on the power BI dashboard.

Regards

Try to locate the 'Created By' column, which is currently showing as 'list'. Click on the column header dropdown and select 'Expand to New Rows' or 'Expand Record Column' depending on your version of Power BI. You might see options to select specific fields within the 'Created By' column such as Email, DisplayName, Claims...

After expanding, select the relevant fields that you need to display. Typically, you would select DisplayName or Email to show the name or email of the user who created the record.

Rename and clean up.

This is a great solution! Another one can be found in the thread below.

Re: Column Name Changes when Sharepoint list is im... - Microsoft Fabric Community

SOLUTION:  Use the 'SHAREPOINT ONLINE LISTS' option (not SharePoint Lists) and choose Implementation 2.0  (It defaults to 1.0)
