couldn't load the schema for the database model

I get an error on powerbi startup "couldn't load the schema for the database model"

This is after a fresh install and no reports loaded.

When I try to import data from an excel, I receive the same error message

I am using Version: 2.106.883.0 64-bit (June 2022)

Seems like this is being caused by x64 build of Power BI Desktop. I suggest you uninstall the current PowerBI Desktop and reinstall an older x64 build or latest x32 build.

Users who were facing this error, installed the latest x32 build and it worked for them.
