connection with databricks failing

Hi,

I am using PowerBI Version: 2.92.1067.0 64-bit (April 2021)

I am using the Azure Databricks connector and followed all steps posted online (using the connection details from Databricks cluster)

I used all authentication option (Azure Active Directory - etc) . After clicking on Connect, I get the below error

We encountered an error while trying to connect

Details: "ODBC: ERROR [HY000] [Microsoft][ThriftExtension] (14) Unexpected response from server during a HTTP connection: Could not resolve host for client socket.."

Please help me with this. Do I need to make any configuration on my laptop (just received a new one) or should i download an odbc driver? (Please help me with the link to download the odbc driver if thats what needs to be done)

Hi @k0s00o1

The latest PBI Desktop version is 2.93.641.0 (5/12/2021). Please download the latest version by this link and try again.

Please check your credential in Data source setting.

1.Find Data source setting

2.Find your Azure databricks credential.

3.Select edit permission, Select edit credential, Enter the AAD accout again. Make sure the AAD account you enter has permission to your data source.

4. Connect again.

And please check whether your Sever name and Http Url is right in datasource.

For more details about how to connect to Azure databricks in PBI Desktop, you may refer to this video.

For reference: Bolg

Or you can try to connect to data source by personal access token.

I only had the issue in our company network but for me setting "EnableAutomaticProxyDiscovery" to "enabled" (can be done in the source tab of the data transformation view or when entering the connection settings) resolved the issue.

I am also facing the same issue. Tried the steps mentioned in the above comment, but still no luck. Any more suggestions?
