conditional formatting within a matrix with a Custom Hierarchy built by layering rows.

Hello all. Just checking if anyone encountered this before and was able to figure out a workaround. I am trying to set up conditional formatting within a matrix with a Custom Hierarchy built by layering rows. As you can see in the image, the conditional formatting icons are only displaying when the children are at the lowest level. I need to have the icons displayed for every level, for every line item. This seems to be a recognized shortcoming for the PowerBI team, but am trying to figure out some way to work around this. Thank you!

  • Try putting the values in a different table, linking the two tables, using the new dimension as values, and putting the conditional formatting on that.
