circular dependency on two columns of expected search value?

Hello

I'm getting an error of dependence on the icrc in two separate "lookupvalue" columns. Does anyone know why this is a problem?

Allows a thin column. But it causes the error in a second column. Thank you!

Gross : LOOKUPVALUE(Budget[Gross],Budget[Concat1],Data[Concat2])
Neto: LOOKUPVALUE(Budget[Net],Budget[Concat1],Data[Concat2])

Hi @DavidWaters100 ,

There is a good description for circular dependencies: https://www.sqlbi.com/articles/understanding-circular-dependencies/.

It does not allow to have two calculated columns that contain measures that are also based on that table.   As a workaround, you may try to convert these into measures instead of column.

You can refer to the similar case: "A circular Dependency was detected" error while creating a calculated column.

Best Regards,

Very difficult to troubleshoot circular dependencies. What does the text of the circular dependency say? It should call out the offending columns/measures involved. Please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490
