buttons & bookmark complexity

Hi,

I have a unique challange which I hope someone has come accross and can have an idea on how to tackle it.

For simplicity let's assume my report page has an upper part and a lower part. Each of them has two modes.

Let's say the upper part has a few KPIs, some show MTD values and some show YTD values. I'm using bookmarks and YTD/MTD buttons to switch the view between the MTD and YTD KPIs.

Let's say the lower part shows some charts with performance over time, and I want to use the same concept and create buttons to toggle between sales over time and profit over time.

(note: this is just a simplified example I've used here so please do not suggest different layouts).

The problem, with having two sets of buttons & bookmarks, is that when I'm creating the bookmarts to toggle between MTD/YTD(upper part), I'm also forcing a selection of a state in the lower part. And vice versa.

On to my question - is it possible to somehow have the MTD/YTD buttons switch between MTD/YTD bookmarks but leave the lower part as is? I'm assuming this is somehow possible in the bookmark settins (all visuals/select visuals?), just not sure how to use it.

Thanks!

Hi @zivhimmel  ,

You are correct, you can achieve the desired result by choosing the Bookmarks "Selected Visuals" feature.

For example:

> Create MTD bookmark

> Right click on Bookmark name > Tick "Selected Visual"
> Select all visuals that will be impacted by this bookmark ( CTRL + Click for multiple selection)
> Right click on Bookmark name > "Update"

Repeat these steps for all buttons.

Hope this helps
Cheers
