This is original graph with calendar year.
Not sure why when I change x-axis with Financial year, the gap between year becomes bigger.

Here I can reproduce your issue on myside. When I change the calendar year to the fiscal year, it reduces the number of years on the x-axis and then the distance between the only remaining years will be too large.
Here I suggest you to refer to following step to change the X-axis.
Format your visual> Visual - X-axis >Type - change it from "Continuous" to "Categorical".
Result is as below.
