better date slicer without showing field names

Is there any free date slicer from the App market which shows the dates selected without field name attached? In the default slicer, I put three fields in: Year, Yearmonth, Date. As a result, it shows my selection on each level with field name attached, something like : 2025(Year) + 202509(Year Month) + 20250922(Date). It's difficult to read such a long string, the dates part always get hidden. I would like something like 2025-09-21.

I tried both solutions. They don't meet the need. I want to give users the right to pick date from a hierachy dropdown list, but the hierarchy slicer is big, it doesn't collapse, hence I won't use it neither.

For the moment, I keep the default slicer, but rename the field names to make the text shorter.

Hi @Jeanxyz,

Thank you for the update, for now please use the default slicer. We are closing this thread for now, if you have any other issues please raise a new thread in the community forum, we are ready to assist you on that.

Hi @Jeanxyz

It looks like you’re not using a date range slicer but a hierarchical slicer (Year → Month → Date). That’s why Power BI automatically shows the field names for each level.

You have two options:

1. Use the free Hierarchy Slicer from AppSource. It lets you hide field names and customize the layout. Then, you can add a dynamic title to display the selected date in your preferred format, for example:

Selected Date = FORMAT(SELECTEDVALUE('Calendar'[Date]), "yyyy-mm-dd")

Split the slicer into three separate slicers — Year, Month, and Date — all connected to the same calendar table. This way, you can keep the selection simple and readable without the long combined string.

You can try using a custom Date Picker visual from AppSource—it shows dates like 2025-09-21 without field names.
Alternatively, create a calculated column formatting your date as YYYY-MM-DD and use it in a standard slicer.
