best configuration for working with PBI desktop in remote desktop

As I am unable to refresh my datasets and increase the dimensions by working on a PC, I was planning to use a remote desktop of higher configuration with PBI desktop installed. But I am not sure what the best configuration for this virtual machine can be. currently, on my PC, I have 16 GB RAM and an i7 processor.

Hi, @vishwadataguru

I'm happy to answer your questions. The following are the minimum installation requirements for Power BI Desktop:

If you want better performance, here are some of my suggestions:

1.Power BI can be memory-intensive, especially when working with large datasets or complex reports. You currently have 16 GB RAM on your PC, which is basically enough. If possible, aim for 32GB or more for smoother performance, especially if you're dealing with substantial data transformations or visualizations

2.Your i7 processor is a good start. Please check the number of cores of your processor. Multi-core CPUs enable better parallel processing during data refresh and report rendering.

3.Choose a VM with a 64-bit Windows (Windows 11 or Windows 10). Make sure the operating system is up to date and does not lack necessary patches.

4.Remember that VM performance depends on the hosting provider, so choose a reputable cloud service or set up an on-premises VM with sufficient resources.

The above are some of my suggestions. If it helps you, that would be great.
