If you want to modify your dashboard but keep the origin dashboard, we can create a copy of dashboard based on this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-dashboard-copy

Dear Friend, 

    Currently we don't the option to take backup from Power BI services. But we will do some workaround

1. Publish the Latest file in your local workspace to maintain backup.

2. Use TFS

Suppose if workspace got deleted ? don't worry we will restore it from Azure, for more details please watch this video from Guyinacube
