average - Confused

Damian911_0-1720488737817.png

I have a power bi dataset that is calculating the average of our rental systems.  I believe this value is correct.  However when you export the data and sum it, it does not sum to 28.63.  It Sums to 35.04 which is not correct.

Can anyone explain to me why?

Very confused 🙂

I show you a simple example.

Step 0: I use this data below.

Step 1: I get the data with Power BI Desktop and make a measure below.

    Weight Avg = AVERAGE('Weight'[Weight kg])

Step 2: I make a matrix.

In this matrix, "53.33" is not a 'Simple average' of "75 and 42.5".  (53.33 = (70+80+40+50+45+35)/6)

In this matrix, 'Total' doesn't mean 'Sum of 75 and 42.5' but 'Average of weight of 6 persons'.
