Hi all,
I'm quite new to using report builder.
I'm working on a new report, and I'm trying to use the report name as title, I'm using the [&ReportName] from Globlas!ReportName, but when I run the preview mode nothing is showing up.
I saved already the file with the name "Report" for test, but nothing it's working. I also tried the other Global variables and they worked (like the total pages i'm using as subtitle in this test). I followed every step as they do in the Power BI Paginated Reports in a Day course from Microsoft but clearly I'm missing something.
Any idea?

It is NOT your steps or your fault. It is well known for many years in SSRS world. It will not work until you save on a server.
=Globals.ReportName
ReportName String The name of the report as it is stored in the report server database.
reference:
I know it's an old post, but still relevant. That what has been said about SSRS having the same behaviour is not true.
In the Microsoft Report Builder there is no value for the Report Name:
The result:
Now in SSRS in Visual Studio, the same command results in the name of the file:
So this global parameter functions differently in the Report Builder, and therefore should be considered a bug
preview from server:
Glad it worked ...
Please see, since you are trying as newbie, if you dont find answers as Paginated reports, try search in google the issue for SSRS, you will find answers.
Paginated Reports on the Power BI Service is same as SSRS. SSRS is there for many years.
Many thanks!
This is valuable information 🤓
Hi forantes
See if these steps work for you (sorry I have it in Spanish)
Best regards
FYI, The user knows how to use it. The user is saying that it wont show on the report builder, which (the issue) is by design.
Hope my reply is not rude to you 🙂

Thanks, sevenhills!
I tried to publish it, but I had other issues with my Redshift connection and gateway, and I couldn't see the report on the server. I created another report without data and tried it, and it worked. I can see the report name once it was published.
Thanks again
