Dear community,
I have a challenge to calculate and display the correct number of a YoY difference. The case seems rather simple, but I cannot find the correct calculations and get my visualisations up and running.
The YoY difference challenge is as follows:
I have a single table where a number of members is registered (numeric). I've set a baseline year as well:
mbo_id | year | permanent_staff | Baseline year |
25 | 2016 | 3 | 2019 |
25 | 2017 | 5 | 2019 |
25 | 2018 | 3 | 2019 |
25 | 2019 | 3 | 2019 |
25 | 2020 | 4 | 2019 |
25 | 2021 | 4 | 2019 |
25 | 2022 | 5 | 2019 |
799 | 2017 | 7 | 2019 |
799 | 2018 | 5 | 2019 |
799 | 2019 | 7 | 2019 |
799 | 2020 | 8 | 2019 |
799 | 2021 | 8 | 2019 |
799 | 2022 | 12 | 2019 |
1497 | 2017 | 0 | 2018 |
1497 | 2018 | 0 | 2018 |
1497 | 2019 | 3 | 2018 |
1497 | 2020 | 3 | 2018 |
1497 | 2021 | 3 | 2018 |
1497 | 2022 | 5 | 2018 |
1497 | 2023 | 5 | 2018 |
What I want to have is a bar chart that sums the YoY values. Important is that the years on and prior to the baseline are ignored (I've marked the applicable values that should be included as bold).
The bar chart for 2018 would then be 3 (being only mbo_id 1497), and for 2019 it would be 2 (as only mbo_id 25 and 799 have a YoY difference).

Dear @speedramps thank you for your message. I'm sorry the bold numbers (which appear as bold on my screen) are not readable enough. The issue was in the sum of the YoY totals, as shown in the screenshot I removed trying to make my question more clear. The YoY values I had but the sum of those YoY values did not match the total. In the meanwhile I have found a solution via this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rgAkejrup8&t=519s allowing me to solve the issue.
Again, thank you for your input and help! If I stumble on another challenge I will try to make my post more clear and concise.

We want to help you more but your explanation is confussing.
Ignoring <= "baseline" year is very confussing !
Try provide less infomation.
Try be give clear annotated diagrams
If you say you use BOLD text, then please do use bold text.
Ask a friend, colleague or manager to check your questions before posting.

We want to help you but your description is too vaugue and complex. Please write it again clearly.
One simple question per post please. Wherease you are combineingserveral questions for a entire system specification.
Please DON'T copy & paste your DAX that does not work and expect us to fathom what you want to do. That is a bit crazy. 😀
Please just give a simple non technical functional decscription of what you want, then let us suggest the solution. Thank you.
Provide example input data as table text (not a screen print) so we can import the data to build a solution for you.
Also provide the example desired output, with a clear description of the process flow.
Remember not to share private data ... we don't want you to get into trouble. 😧
Take time and care to use the same table and field names in the input, output and description so we can understand your problem and help you.
Try keep it simple and ask one question per ticket.
You will get a quick response if you put time, care and effort into writing clear problem descriptions.
Vaugue descriptions can waste your time and ourtime.
Look foward to helping you when the above information is forthcoming
