YTD Total is Slightly Off

Good morning,

I've noticed an error in my running total (column 'Measure'). I'm thinking it's easy but having some problems tinkering with it.

I want to simply add the totals in [% Turnover] (this is a measure) together. So it's simply 9.7 + 7.1 + 10.3 = 27.1% but I'm getting 27.5%.

I understand that the 27.5% is coming from the total terminations / YTD average ([14+12+23] / AVERAGE(144.3+168.3+222.7)) but I do not want this way of calculating it as it tends to confuse the audience.

Can anyone provide a formula to try so I get the 27.1% at end of Q3?

Hi @seanpratt ,

According to your description, here are my steps you can follow as a solution.

(1) This is my test data.

vtangjiemsft_0-1668759011509.png

(2) We can create a calculated column.

Year = YEAR('Table'[Date])
Quarter = QUARTER('Table'[Date])

(3) We can create a measure.

Measure = CALCULATE([% Turnover],'Table'[Quarter]<=SELECTEDVALUE('Table'[Quarter]))

(3) Then the result is as follows.

Hi @seanpratt,

You can use:

Measure = CALCULATE([% Turnover],FILTER(ALL('Table'),'Table'[Quarter]<=MAX('Table'[Quarter])))

Unfortunately that did not work. It actually kept a running count into the following year which is not ideal.
