X axis showing the time with date.

Hi All,
I have created a line chart and my x axis is date field with continues x axis setting everything looks good if I am selecting complete date range.
When I am selecting small date range let say 01/03/2022 to 03/03/2022 my date date period showing the date with time.
My data type for date field is “Date” and format is “dd/MM/yyyy”

Is there any option to remove this time with date.

Complete date range :-

I had similar issue with a continuous date field on x-asis. I have solved it by creating copy of my date field and setting up the data type as text. Worked pretty well for me. Give a try.

Hi @Yagevendra ,

If the type of the X-axis is continuous, it will have time value when the date is too short.

In the visualization format pane, change the type of the X-axis to Catetorical, it works fine.

@v-yanjiang-msft

 thanks for your reply,
Categorical gives the complete date range, in my case I don't want to show complete date range that’s why I selected continues instead of categorical.

Yes, the same thing happing with me when I select 2 or 3 date only it gives the time with date.

Is it bug or need to raise ticket for the same?

Hi @Yagevendra ,

That's how it was designed, there isn't a proper way to format or change the values of the axis whilst in continuous mode. To make Power BI better, you can submit your request at Power BI Ideas and vote it up.

@Yagevendra -> Did you apply your changes and saved the file?
If not, then try doing that and then pull in the date field into the visual. That's the only way to do it as per my knowledge. Thanks.

@Yagevendra - for removing time with date, go to your transform data, select the date column and make its format as Short date. This will remove the timestamp. Then click on apply changes.

Please hit a thumbs up and mark it as a solution if it works for you. Thank you.

@truptis , I have changed the data format to short date, But got the same result as i got earlier.
