Wrong date format in slicer - did everything but still wrong format

Hi all,

I know this question has been asked many times but the date format in my slicer in Power BI Desktop is incorrect. It should be dd/mm/yyyy but I get mm/dd/yyy - I checked everything suggested in previous posts but nothing fixes it:

Power BI Desktop options and settings:

Power BI Desktop Column tools:

Power BI Query Editor:

Windows local client regional settings:

So with all the above, yet still the slicer looks like this:

Am I missing something? Anyone any ideas? Your help would be very much appreciated.

Please note I am talking only about Power BI Desktop!

I submitted a support ticket and just talked to a Power BI Support engineer from Microsoft - apparently the correct date format is only applied when you change your Windows region client settings to English (United Kingdom), see screenshot below. So any other country does not work, even if the date and time formats of that respective country are set to dd/mm/yyyy.

Hi change regional setting to English (UK). Also you have to select in the desktop as per the screenshot.

Column setting should be enough, but it didn't work on my end either. Dropdown/list option works though. I guess this is how it is at the moment

I would hope someone has a solution for this because I have a 4 year date range which is impossible to display in a list or dropdown list... @amitchandak @Greg_Deckler @lbendlin any ideas?

You can raise an issue at https://issues.powerbi.com . If you have a Pro license you can consider raising a Pro ticket at https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/pro/

Thanks - I think that's what I will do. By the way, I found this old post about it, seems like this has been an issue for several years. Back then it was suggested to vote for the idea to have the alternative format implemented, but it's not a new feature... it's a blatant error in my opinion. I will have to use a custom visual as a slicer instead for now. Thanks all for your input.
