Hello!
Please, help to understand what's the problem.
I have merged new column to a table and then I've calculated with it one new custom column in Power Query. Everything is perfect, BUT...
On the chart this column is showed by date and every value from the column of Power query is divided on 2 on the chart!
Please, tell me what's wrong with it?
Thanks!
Lower are the links on the screenshots of table and chart.
As the example you can look at the value on the 22nd of april.
The same is with the other calculated columns((
Hi ri2sina,
As other post, please drop Revenue total and date fields onto a table visualization and provide the screenshot, and make sure the Revenue total field is set to “Don’t summarize”, below is a similar screenshot for your reference.
Moreover, check the function that is used for Revenue total field in your Line Chart visualization, which is similarly shown as the following screenshot.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
Hello Lydia!
If I understand you correctly, please check this link.. Am I?
And i haven't got ''don't summarize" field(
Hi ri2sina,
Do you check if there are mulituple values of Revenue total on April 22, 2016 in your table visualaztion?
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
There is only one value on each date.. The problem is that each value of Revenue total field is divided on two on the chart, so i don't think the problem is with the value on 22nd of april..
Hi ri2sina,
Could you please share me the pbix file? I will check that if I can reproduce this issue using your pbix file.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
Hi, Lydia.
Can you please share mw your e-mail, to send the pbix?
Hi ri2sina,
Please upload the PBIX file on onedrive and share us the link.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
Hi Lydia,
I don't know what has happened.. Before I decided to upload pbix file on onedrive, I had refreshed it again. After that the numbers in the query table had automatically changed and became the same as on the chart. The only thing I had done was sorting and filtering numbers for my convenience.
I can't understand how it could be, because earlier when I refreshed, nothing was changed. And as I wrote earlier, the numbers on the chart were twice less then in the query table.
And i didn't download new version of Power Bi yet after that.
Can you explain this, please?
And thank you for the help!
Can you filter the date field in the "Adwords Revenue and Cost" table to have only the value Apr 22, 2016 in the Query editor and provide a screenshot?
The only way that the revenue total could get reduced is, if there are any other negative values in that table for that date.
Here is only the 22nd of April, filtered in Power Query, please..
And not only this date is wrong. I have other tables with calculated columns and there is the same thing... I can't understand why it's happen, because earlier i did the same things and everything was ok(
Hi ri2sina,
Please click table visualization which is highlighted in the following sceenshot, then drag Revenue total and date fields into Vaules, and make sure the Revenue total field is set to “Don’t summarize”. Then post the result in this forum.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
@ri2sina I don't think this is related to custom column you've created since for the visual in screenshot you're not using data from custom column. It is hard to guess a problem looking at the screenshots provided. Can you do some more troubleshooting.
Can you drop Revenue total and date fields onto a table visual and provide that screenshot. Make sure from the fields dropdown you select 'Do not summarize' ?
the native table was
then i have filtered rows, merged queries and expanded new columns
then i have created new column
then merged queries again by date and currency
and aggregated new column Sum of rate
added custom again Revenue total
and groupped rows
Hi,
Some screenshots would help in understanding the problem better.
Thank you! I've already added it!
Hi, What is the formula used for Revenue total used in the chart.. Also can you please confirm if there are no other filters selected?
hi again!
The Revenue total was calculated as [value1]*[value2]*[value3], and the second value was expanded from the table2, the third value - from table 3.
All selected filters you can see on the link
