Workspace not visible when publishing

Hello,

I'm admin of a BI workspace. I have an user that would like to publish a report within this workspace. This user has pro licence and has contributor access within this workspace. In PowerBI service she's able to see the workspace and open reports as intended.

But, when she's trying to publish a report from PowerBI desktop, the only workspace shown is "My workspace". Even if she's trying to publish to this workspace, she get's an error that she's not allowed to do this.

Can someone help me with this issue? I've no idea where to look.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Sorry for that but we cannot reproduce you issue , Could you please check the following things?

1. Please check that the same account is used to sign in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

2. Make sure that My Workspace doesn’t have a dataset with the same name. You can refer this.

3. Try to create another new workspace, and republish to the new workspace.

4. Check if she are able to  use get data” – “local file” – “upload pbix to publish the report into the workspace.

If it doesn’t solve you issue, could you please show us the error screenshot after removing any confidential information?

Thanks for your suggestions! One of those indeed was the cause. She was indeed signed in under a different (personal) account in PowerBI desktop. This teached me to always start from the beginnings.

Ps. suggestion #4 was also triggered. But we intentionally shut these features off.

Hi @Anonymous,

that sounds strange. My Workspace should always be accessible.

Can you create a trace log?
