Working on it - when switching Dataset

Hi,

How would I know if there is an issue with the Power BI service, whenever I change to a different Data Set I get the message

Working on it

and it then hangs for ages, there is then no Cancel button so after 10 minutes or so I have to end the Power BI Desktop via Task Manager.

Is there anywhere I can check to see what it is doing and why it is hanging?

I also get this message sometimes when if I do connect to the Data Set and then I refresh, the below message appears

AvPowerBI_0-1602713604996.png

It is becoming unworkable now Power BI, frustrated with it!

Thanks

Hi, @AvPowerBI

According to your screenshot picture, I guess that the root cause of this problem is that you don’t have access to this dataset.

I suggest you sign in power bi service using your current account, and try to find the dataset you were connecting to, and create a report using this dataset.

If it failed, you can contact the dataset owner to check if he has selected the option below:

Please note :

Only users with Build permission for a dataset can connect to a published dataset using the Power BI service live connection.

For more limitations of connecting to dataset in powerbi desktop, you can follow this link and draw to the bottom:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-report-lifecycle-datasets

Hi,

I no issues with this before, seem to be having the issue since I have downloaded the latest Version of Power BI Desktop, this is the version I have:

AvPowerBI_0-1602887768802.png

I thought it would be Row Level Security but I have taken this off and even Published the model to My Workspace. And when I create a new report and connect to this DataSet I get the message of
