if you can not use custom visual, i think the best way is using Page Filter which placed at below Visual Filter.
Page Filter will filter all visual in Page (you need to assign Page Filter to each Page if you have multiple Pages) while Visual Filter is only filtering on certain visual.
Also you need to open Filter Pane so user can use Filter Pane but it is open by default.
User can use advace filtering and choose any filter method they want. EXACT or CONTAIN
