My laptop is using Windows Account in Active Directory. It has a complex AD Forest, which I also do not understand, because it is integrated at Corporate Group level.
For months, I've been able to connect to an external data source in a Sharepoint Folder, with my regular Windows Acount, via Power BI. Yesterday, I had to change my password due to corporate policy. Today, I no longer can access all of my external datasource in that Sharepoint Folder, with my regular Windows Account, via Power BI.
I tried "use my current credential" and it fail.
I tried "use alternate credential" by using:
But they all failed.
I tried using "sign in" button in "Microsoft Account" tab, but it tried to popup another window which immediately closes in a fraction of a second, then it fail too.
So what was that sudden popup suppose to do?
How could I update my credentials in Power BI so I can connect again to my external data sources in a Sharepoint Folder?
Btw, I can access that Sharepoint Folder perfectly via browser or Teams application. I've cleared all sharepoint credentials from the "Global Permission" as well.
Oddly I'm unable to "clear permission" for this second entry (the one pointed to Sharepoint folder). But if I create a new PBIX file and start everything from scratch, I'm also not able to access the Sharepoint Folder with my updated Windows account (after password change) as well. Why is Power BI not able to have full synchronization with Microsoft Active Directory?
@pelangi . Clear Permission should give you the solution. Also sometimes it might take a little bit of time to password get updated to all apps. Login on web on Sharepoint and make sure new password is working. If that is working clear permission or new connection should work
