Why does a new column in my SharePoint List data cause my data refresh to fail

I'm attempting to add 2 new columns to my dataset in Microsoft List. Once added and data entered, the data refresh fails. I receive the following message "Processing error The following system error...

    Hi Bex 
    You must go through all the steps starting with pulling data from PQ
    Determine which step starts the problem and fix or remove it.

Hi

Apologies but no. I had a developer helping with the next iteration of our reports and he fixed it. 

All I can suggest is searching for the codes in your error message - may help.
