I want to which data source afordable for connecting by Power BI Desktop with DirectQuery?

for million rows, for billion rows, trillion rows.

My experience,

SQL Server and columnstore database and on-premises data gateway, is afordatble for 0.1 billion rows.

using free SQL Server express edition, and free on-premises data gateway, 32 GB memory and SSD.

Based on my research, there is a limit of one million rows returned on any queries with the direct query mode, regardless of the data source currently, you could refer to this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-directquery-about#other-implications
