When source changes and the report crashes

Is this correct when changes regarding Data Source Path, changes of key, changes of table or column name that are made in Snowflake are also affecting the Power BI report and therefore the report in power bi will crash and are damaged? And the report need to be rebuild again from scratch?

Does this applies when the connection are DirectQuery or Import or both?

Hi @selected_,

In fact, they are the basic processing logic of query tables.

These query steps will keep the data structure(the first time these steps are generated and processed) and not auto-synced even if these data source changes. For this scenario, you need to manually check and compare each step to fix the data structure changes.

@selected_ , I have done these sources changes many times for snowflake. I have moved it from table to query mode in power query source(Advance editor) and changed the columns too

In case it opening, open power query and check.

If it is not opening. Open a new file an increase Data Management Cache to 8 to 10 GB and Try to open your file again

Obv you are wrong. Because once you connect the data to another source and start make changes in the main source for example in snowflake then it will affect also the report in power bi, for example if you change keys, table name and so on. Then you can't even change the source in Data source in power bi either. So I don't where you got all these from.

You need to backup your claim with sources.
