I made some changes to the visuals in my .pbix file. I didn't change the dataset. I have the latest version of pbi desktop but when I publish the report only the dataset gets published and not the report. I don't get any kind of error at all. The last time I published it the report was published to. Now why doesn't it work?
I thought of erasing the current dataset and republishing but I didn't want to do that in case it didn't work. So instead I changed the name of the dataset I'm trying to publish and it worked. But why it didn't work when I was replacing an exissting dataset?
Power BI Desktop supposes to publish both datasets and reports. I can't reproduce your issue. The report on Power BI Service is updated with no changes applied on dataset. I'm using the June Update as well.
Pleaese delete the report and republish your .pbix file.
