Hi there,
I'm trying to connect an excel on Sharepoint to PowerBI.
I have tried both Get - "web" and "Sharepoint foler" and not working.
I tried to "Sign in" with "Organization account". (See below)
But it gives error below:
I have no trouble to connect excel on my local machine. I have full permission to the sharepoint site. I only experence this difficulty when connecting to the Sharepoint.
Could you help? Any directions and suggestions are appriciated.
Thank you!

I was able to partially solve this, howeaver I'm not 100% sure which step works. I pasted my excess here for others who might face the same issue.
Here are couple workaround I tried:
1. Play with the file Sensitivity Lable, make sure both sharepoint file and powerbi report has the same sensitivity level.
2. Use Web Power BI page, Import Excel File: Select "New" and then choose "Semantic model". Then import semantic model to the report.
Hope this help.

Hi @Anonymous,
May I ask if you have resolved this issue? If so, please mark the helpful reply and accept it as the solution. This will be helpful for other community members who have similar problems to solve it faster.
Thank you.
Hi @Anonymous
As the error message says, this is likely due to an organization-level security policy that enforces token protection. These kinds of restrictions are typically managed by your IT or security team and may block Power BI (or other applications) from accessing SharePoint resources, depending on how access policies are defined in Azure AD or SharePoint.
Recommended steps:
Reach out to your IT team to check whether there are Conditional Access or Information Protection policies in place that block this kind of access.
In some organizations, only certain approved apps can connect to SharePoint – even with valid credentials.
If you're not sure where the block is coming from, I suggest:
Posting this issue in the SharePoint Tech Community or Microsoft forums, or
Opening a support ticket with Microsoft to investigate the security policy that's being enforced.

Hi Rita, I tried to use powerBI Web version to connect my file on sharepoint. I was able to sign in and review the table data, but after I clicked "load data", it gives this error message. Do you have any insight about it?
