I've seen a bunch of Q's about accessing workspaces but I don't see where anyone has asked what if there is no workspaces tab in Power BI Desktop for you? Every post I find about issues with Workspaces starts off saying select the Workspaces tab however there is no WorkSpaces tab for me; not to open one, create one or anythingelse. I can see my workspaces when I use the POWER Bi Service but when using Desktop Power BI there are no Workspaces and I can find no tab or anything with the word workspaces in it.

Hi @edcarden ,
The article you screenshot is actually what you do in Power BI Service.
If you want to learn about Power BI, I recommend searching Microsoft's official documentation. I've helped you search some documentation about workspaces for you to learn and reference:
Workspaces in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Create a workspace in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi!
Please note that the article you found is generated by AI, and it has no credibility, so please pay attention to discerning!
Here's a screenshot form a guide I found on Power BI Desktop and it clearly says to create a workspace in Power BI Desktop.

Dino - I know that workspaces are in the PowerBI Service I was just giving 1 example of many I came across google searching on how to get to workspaces in the Desktop version. This article was about workspaces in the desktop program not the service. I understand that it's worng b/c the desktop version doe snot suport workspaces but aparently there are many out there who think it does because this wasn't the only example I came across. With how often Miccrosft changes the products UI and features it's no surprise people don't know for sure what can be done in one but not the other.
Not every user appreciates Microsofts changing Power Bi's UI and features so often that a training class on Power BI done today will be outdated in a month or 2.
Hi @edcarden ,
I'm sorry but workspace doesn't exist in Power BI Desktop, workspace only exists in Power BI Service. You can create a report in Power BI Desktop and then publish it to a workspace in Power BI Service.

Now that puzzles me. It seems like a natural organization method for one's various powert BI items and yet the more robuist desktop versio of the app doesn't include it.
