So I have this page in my report. It has a Between Dates slicer. It works great and I want to have the same functionality on another report page (same report). But I can't replicate it.
This Between Dates slicer is affected by two other filters (slicers) calle Short Type, and Test Period. These slicers filter the calendar to about 4 months, which makes the between dates slicer much more usefull as it only filters data that isn't already removed by the other two slicers.
OK, now I select the between dates slicer, CTRL+C CTRL+V. New slicer does not recognize Short Type, and Test Period. It is also much less useful as the range on the slider axis with data is now tiny. The copy taker in the whole Calendar range.
This problem is driving me nuts...
There are other slicers on this page (outside of view) that also filter columns from the calendar, and they all recognize Short Type & Test Type filters.
What changed? How do I get the copy to also recognize the other filter like the original?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I you want to just apply dates filter on that visual and not other two then try EDIT INTERACTION
this facility help you to choose filter apply on which visual.

OMG!!! Thank you. This was it. I had completely forgot about this feature.
You are welcome....
I've tried syncing them, but it does not solve the issue. In fact in just introduce other peculiar behaviour. Because even though the slicers are synced, they present a different range of date options. Where the new slicer gives all dates in my calendar. This allows me to select dates using the new slicer that are outside the range of the original slicer. This selection is synced over to the original slicer.
Then when I start to narrow the selection on the original slicer by draging one of the sliders in from the end, it will register my selection and sync it to the new slicer. Then as soon as I let go of the slider, it jumps back to the end, removeng the "extra" date options from the original slicers range.
