What is the difference in drill down: go to next level vs. expand all one level

Using drill down and hierarchies: What is the difference between "go to next level..." vs. "expand all one level..."

I can only see that the naming of all the levels in the hierarchy is shown when using "expand all one level..."?

What is the purpose, can anyone tell?

I can not find any information that describ the purpose. In this documentation,"expand all one level..." is not even mentioned.

@Anonymous  first one drills you down to the next level

2nd one expands the drill down
